A Review Of Apple iPhone 11 Pro: Why Buy In 2023?

Review Of Apple iPhone 11 Pro

After four years, making a review of the Apple iPhone 11 Pro may appear somewhat irrelevant since most people would be eager to know more about the iPhone 14 or at least the iPhone 13 models. However, the iPhone 11 variants are still worth every penny spent on them and can be a good option if you are looking to upgrade or are on a low budget.

Like we have compared the iPhone 11 with the iPhone XR, the iPhone 11 Pro shares similarities with the iPhone XS and has been seen by most iPhone lovers as an update to the latter. However, upon critical review, we discovered that the iPhone 11 Pro is more than just an update to the iPhone XS and can do far better than you may have imagined.

The only disappointment you will find is probably the small screen which is perfect for those who dislike the large-screen iPhones, and maybe the discontinuation by Apple. Moreover, not only the iPhone 11 was discontinued, but we also have the iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 12 Pro, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max joining the long list.

Design And Display

Screen Display And body Design of the iPhone 11 Pro

From a mere look at the iPhone 11 Pro, one can easily spot how much improvement Apple has made to the phone compared to its predecessors. In our review of the Apple iPhone 11 Pro, we observed Apple reversed the back cover’s texture and included a telephoto camera. The iPhone 11 Pro takes a matte finish and glossy camera bump, which is a complete reversal of the glossy back and matte finish in the camera bump of the iPhone 11. Surprisingly, many iPhone lovers have found the reverse helpful as it makes the phone less slippery and erases fingerprints easily.

At the front lies the stunning 5.8 inches OLED display screen whose brightness peaked at 1200 nits and has been the talk of the town since its release. Although Apple has produced some phones with better display screens, the Super Retina XDR display of the iPhone 11 Pro remains the pathway to this success. Conversely, the improvements have made the iPhone 11 Pro slightly heavier than its lookalike, iPhone XS, which you may frown at. If you are not a big fan of larger-screen phones and can still cope with extra weight, the iPhone 11 Pro should top your priority list.

Camera Configuration

Rear Cameras Of The iPhone 11 Pro

One exciting aspect of our review of the Apple iPhone 11 Pro is the stunning pictures taken by the cameras. The camera qualities were almost the same as that of the iPhone 11, as we have stated in our review of the iPhone 11. However, the added telephoto camera has a noticeable impact. The first thing that struck our attention during the iPhone 11 Pro review is the enhanced Night Mode, which aligns the phone with the likes of Google Pixels and Huawei low–light Android cameras.

iPhone XS Vs. iPhone 11 Pro in Night Mode

Not only did the iPhone 11 Pro outshone the Pixel 3 in low-light photo comparison, but it also toppled the Pixel 4 in divergent low-light photo tests. Furthermore, the telephoto camera also lived up to its 12MP claim during the test, although it lags behind the wide and ultrawide cameras in low-light picture quality. It was obvious how much Apple has improved its camera system from the quality of images and the details exposed in the pictures taken by the rear cameras, especially the wide and ultrawide cameras.

Nonetheless, there is still a problem left unsolved by Apple, and now that the company has discontinued production of the iPhone, it may remain like that. The iPhone 11 Pro was not impressive when we took pictures in portrait mode, although this can be overlooked, thanks to the new Deep Fusion mode with the iOS 13.2.

What more?

Furthermore, the selfie camera was also used in our review of the Apple iPhone 11 Pro, and you can clearly see the difference between the iPhone 11 Pro’s 12MP front camera and iPhone XS’s 7MP front camera. The iPhone 11 Pro’s selfie camera produces crystal clear images that note virtually every detail and allow for a wider field of view. To wrap the review of the Apple iPhone 11 Pro camera, we also checked out the video capacity of the phone, and we can see Apple really spent time ensuring all three rear cameras can record a 4K-resolution video at 60 frames per second.

You can quickly notice that we spent a lot of time checking out the cameras during this iPhone 11 Pro review, and we are glad Apple did not disappoint us. We believe the camera can be improved, especially after upgrading the phone to a higher iOS. Speaking of iOS, let’s check out the efficiency and performance of the iPhone 11 Pro.

Chipset And Processor

Like its predecessor, the iPhone 11 Pro comes with the A13 Bionic chipset and iOS 13. As we stated during our review of the Apple iPhone 11, the iPhone 11 Pro is a speedster on the lineup as it smashes the speed test and really brings the four high-efficiency and two high-performance cores that are 20% faster, 30% more efficient, and consume 40% less power than the A12 chipset to life. Good enough, you can upgrade the iOS 13 to iOS 17 to enjoy even better efficiency and mobile performance.

Memory And Storage

The iPhone 11 Pro, like its variants, features 4GB RAM and comes into the market at entry storage of 64GB. However, Apple excludes the 128GB version made available in the Apple iPhone 11 to include a 512GB model. Moreover, the storage you consider depends on your needs and budget, although any storage capacity you select should do the job.

Battery Life

Even though the iPhone 11 Pro has the smallest battery capacity and falls behind the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro Max in battery life, it still lasted about 11 hours in the Tom’s Guide battery test. Consequently, its incredible battery life has been praised by many users and ranked as one of the small-screen size phones with a long-lasting battery.

Surprisingly, Apple listens to tons of complaints from its users and finally includes an 18W charger in the Apple iPhone 11 Pro box. When put to the test, the 18W charger took the iPhone 11 Pro to 50% in 30 minutes; what else makes an almost perfect iPhone?

Conclusion

Just like we have concluded in the iPhone 11 review, our review of the Apple iPhone 11 Pro has proved once again that the iPhone 11 variants paved the way for the notable development in iPhones we have seen in the last four years. The Apple iPhone 11 Pro might look small but it performed better than the large-screen flagship of most Android released during the same period.

Therefore, if you prefer a smaller-screen phone and an upgrade to the iPhone 11, then the iPhone 11 Pro should be your next stop.
